Welcome to Online Chemistry and Physics
Hello! I am honored to be your mentor through High School Chemistry and Physics. I love these subjects and am looking forward to guiding through the wonder and beauty of both and helping you enjoy and appreciate the truth we can understand through them.
This is my third year teaching at John Adams Online. My youngest son, Daniel, attends JAA El Dorado Hills and is in eighth grade there. My other four children graduated high school some years ago and I now have three son-in-laws and four grandsons!
Classical education is an adventure that at its heart, helps me mentor my scholars to take joy and delight in learning, even something as unknown as Physics and Chemistry. One of my favorite authors, C. S. Lewis, wrote in one of my favorites of his books, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader,
’What I mean is that I think chaps who set out like us will look as silly as – as those Dufflepuds – if we come home and say we got to the beginning of the world’s end and hadn’t the heart to go any further.’ ” Rynelf, in C. S. Lewis, Voyage of the Dawn Treader
This quote speaks to me because not giving up in the face of the unknown is a beautiful and worthy decision.
