Margret Walker Bio

I am excited to be starting my second year engaging in wonderful classic literature with John Adams Academy scholars; diving into stories that change our hearts and broaden our minds. I love working with scholars of all ages—even parents. 😉 The best part of teaching online with JAA is that I can work with a school that aligns with my teaching philosophy even when I live across the country! I have spent the last 8 years following my husband’s career in the Army from sea to shining sea and even across it to Germany. We just moved to the beautiful Hudson River Valley in New York state where we love being so close to our nation’s founding history. I have 4 beautiful daughters ages 6, 5, 3, and 7 months. We spend many of our days singing and reading together. Choosing a favorite classic is like choosing a favorite child. I have an enduring passion for Shakespeare for all he shows us of human nature (and I love being able to add some dramatic flair to my learning.) I also love revisiting Dandelion Wine by Ray Bradbury whenever I need to remember to wake up to the joy in life’s journey.
