Applications for the 2024-25 school year will be will be accepted beginning January 8, 2024 @ 8:00am.
Applications must be submitted by February 9, 2024 to be included in the lottery, for those grades requiring a lottery. (Please see Lottery FAQ page, questions #3 & #4 for lottery details.)
John Adams Academy is a TK-12, tuition-free public charter school with a mission to Restore America’s Heritage by Developing Servant Leaders. Great minds in history studied other great minds in history. Scholars at John Adams Academy do the same. AGE REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants to both the In-Person and Online programs must meet age requirements in order to submit an application for fall 2023. (Please see age requirements on the right.)

JOHN ADAMS ACADEMY - ONLINE:
John Adams Academy can only enroll scholars in the Online Program in compliance with the law.
The Academy may only enroll scholars in the Online Program who reside within the county in which the Academy campus is located, or who reside within a neighboring (adjacent) county.

Placer, Nevada, Sutter, Yuba, Sacramento, and El Dorado County residents are eligible to apply.

El Dorado, Sacramento, Placer, Amador, and Alpine County residents are eligible to apply.

The application only seeks basic contact information to facilitate the lottery and confirm the scholar lives in a county where the Online Program is available. We do not ask for a scholar's transcripts, or if the scholar receives special education services, or any other academic information in the application to participate in the lottery or as a condition of enrollment.
John Adams Academy desires to serve all scholars subject to legal requirements and capacity. Please note, that California Education Code does not allow scholars with exceptional needs/disabilities to participate in independent study unless their IEP specifically provides for participation in an independent study. We encourage all families, including families with scholars with exceptional needs, to consider and apply to the Online Program if they believe this program will benefit their scholars. You do NOT need to complete applications for scholars who are currently enrolled. Scholars who are currently enrolled at John Adams Academy are guaranteed admission for the following school year and will complete a separate re-enrollment process. Additional information on re-enrollment through the data confirmation process in your Aeries Parent Portal will be provided at a later date.

BIRTH DATES FOR ELIGIBILITY
Transitional Kindergarten (2024-25 school year): Child turns 5 on or between September 2, 2024 and June 2, 2025..
Kindergarten (2023-24 school year): Child turns 5 on or before September 1, 2024.
1st Grade (2023-24 school year): Child must turn 6 on or before September 1, 2024.
