2025-26 Application Window
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate an unexpected delay in our enrollment process. SchoolMint, the system we use for enrollment, is in the process of transitioning to a new platform on their end. As a result, there have been delays in processing lottery results. Typically, families would receive seat offers immediately after the lottery, and those placed on the waitlist would be able to view their position right away. However, due to SchoolMint's ongoing system transition, neither of these features are currently available.
We recognize how important this information is, and we are working closely with SchoolMint to resolve these issues as quickly as possible. We will notify families as soon as seat offers are sent and waitlist positions are visible.
In the meantime, please reference the Post-Lottery FAQ below to address common questions. If you have any urgent concerns, please reach out to our Admissions department.
Thank you for your patience and interest in John Adams Academy. We look forward to welcoming new families soon!
Post-Lottery FAQ:
Application & Lottery Process
1. I am unable to locate my application in SchoolMint. What should I do?
Ensure you are logging in to johnadamsacademy.schoolmint.com (not .net) using the email or telephone number you used during the application process.
2. Have I missed the notification regarding my child's lottery placement?
Lottery results are posted publicly and can be accessed by selecting from the campus list on the right of the Lottery Results page.
3. When will official offers be sent out?
Official enrollment offers will be sent out once the transition to our new SchoolMint platform is complete.
4. We were not placed in the lottery and cannot view our current ranking. How can we access this information?
If you applied after the application window or were not included in the lottery, your application may be on the waitlist. Please log in to your SchoolMint account to view your status or contact our admissions office for clarification.
5. When will we know if there is a chance of securing a seat from the waitlist?
Waitlist movement depends on seat availability, which can vary. We will notify families as soon as a seat becomes available for their scholar.
6. Do the lottery and foundation placements coincide?
Foundations placements and the lottery process are separate. Foundations seats are based on availability determined by our Foundations team to meet the needs of individual families. For questions related to Foundations, please contact [email protected].
Offers & Enrollment
What is an Application Window?
California requires charter schools to set an application window to determine whether there are more applications for the upcoming year than there are seats available. If there are more applications than seats available the charter school is required to conduct a public random drawing (lottery) for those seats.
The 2025-26 school year application window:
Monday, January 6, 2025 - Friday, February 7, 2025
The application window is used to determine if a lottery is required for any particular grade.
The lottery will be used to fill available seats and to establish a waitlist, if necessary. For frequently asked questions about lotteries and to see which grades require a lottery for the 2025-26 school year, please visit the Lottery FAQ page after the above window closes.
Applications continue to be accepted following the application window. Anyone applying after the application window would NOT participate in the lottery, but be placed on the waitlist for that grade if no seats are available, or receive an offer of admission if seats are available.
