PSO Committees

There are wonderful opportunities for parents to get involved here at John Adams Academy - El Dorado Hills!  The following committees are comprised of countless parent volunteers and led by committee Chairs.  Click on a committee below to discover ways you can assist in building a Culture of Greatness here at JAA!

Joining a group does not commit you to helping, but simply informs you of opportunities to volunteer and earn your 40 family service hours.

 



 

The Community Building Committee's purpose is to welcome new families, strengthen bonds within the John Adams Academy community, and support the Core Value Nights/Other Academy evening events, Parent Leadership Group, offsite community events for parents and scholars, and other fun events.
 
The Community Events Committee supports Academy-sponsored events such as Veterans Day, Grandparent's Day, Constitution Day, and the Revolution Run & Rev Run Auction Baskets.
 
The Dining for Dollars Committee organizes monthly dine-out events at local restaurants who give the Academy a % of the proceeds back for fundraising. For the 2023-2024 school year, the PSO has given the Dining for Dollars program to the Athletics Enrichment Committee (AEC) to help build the athletics program on our campus. Join here if you want to help and the AEC will contact you!
 
The Elementary Events Committee organizes and facilitates opportunities for scholars and their families to encourage unity and make memories. Events include a Fall PSO Harvest Festival, the Daddy-Daughter Dance, and a Mother-Son Event.
 
The Library Committees support both the EDH Elementary and Secondary campus Libraries with book wrapping, book processing, Book Donation Program, and bulletin board decorations and content.

The Fine Arts Enrichment Committee supports the Fine Arts Departments (Art, Music, and Drama) in various ways, including: supporting the Art, Music/Choir, and Drama teachers, support performances, organize community library displays, prep/hang artwork for school events, decorate for performances, help with ticket sales, and assist with fundraising efforts.
 
The Fundraising Committee organizes the one and only annual fall PSO fundraiser to raise funds for the PSO to be able to support campus-wide activities and events, make grants to invest in our Academy, and support other campus needs. Join to help with the annual fundraiser!
 
The Garden Committee creates a beautiful school garden where scholars learn to plant, tend, and harvest (taste) different vegetables. Due to field construction this year, there will not be a school garden.
 
The Holiday Service Committee organizes an annual adopt-a-child project through Catalyst Community in Cameron Park.
 
ParentSquare Group - 
Room Parents help communicate classroom needs to parents on behalf of the teacher.  Helps coordinate classroom parties, teacher gifts from the class, silent auction baskets, etc. Teachers select Room Parents, so if you are interested, please contact your teacher!
The Secondary Events Committee orchestrates and supports secondary dances and socials, Simulation Day, 8th Grade Promotion gift and video, and other events and activities for our secondary grades (7th-12th). Volunteers will coordinate their efforts in furnishing secondary scholars with memorable and uplifting events which encourage unity and provide positive social engagements.
 
The Library Crew supports the EDH Secondary Campus Library with book wrapping, book processing, Book Donation Program, and bulletin boards.
 
ParentSquare Group - 
Under the direction of the campus Athletic Director, provides support to the Secondary Sports programs with fundraising, helping at games with ushering, concessions, etc.

The Staff Luncheon Committee coordinates and hosts a monthly luncheon on one Friday afternoon each month. 
 
The Staff Appreciation Committee collaborates and organizes teacher and staff appreciation activities for our wonderful teachers and staff.  This includes but is not limited to teacher appreciation week.
 
Uniform Management Committee helps manage the uniform closets, uniform swaps and Spirit Wear.
 
ParentSquare Group - 
The Photography Committee documents JAA-EDH and PSO events throughout the school year. Lots of PSO pictures are used by the secondary scholars to create a yearbook available to be purchased by all scholars.
