Throughout her life, Erin McCoy has been motivated by the pursuit and preservation of truth and goodness. It is this passion that brought her and her family to John Adams Academy in 2019.

Mrs. McCoy graduated from Westmont College with a degree in Political Science and Communication Studies with the intention of becoming a political journalist. After serving Young America’s Foundation as a National Student Leadership Conference team member in Santa Barbara, Mrs. McCoy assisted Lt. Col. Oliver North with his radio broadcast in Washington, DC, while completing her studies in journalism at American University. Although these experiences helped her to develop strong communication, analytical and cooperative skills, Mrs. McCoy felt called to a more impactful role.

Ultimately, she discovered that fulfillment in education, recognizing the importance and value of guiding our youth throughout such influential years. With a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from California State University, Fresno, Mrs. McCoy taught all grade levels in both California and Colorado. Her time and exposure in various classrooms reenforced her determination to fight for truth and goodness for the benefit of all children and their futures.

Mrs. McCoy and her husband, Michael, have been active members in El Dorado County, as well as within our school community. They have four children who attend John Adams Academy - El Dorado Hills in both the elementary and secondary programs. In addition to her involvement on campus and within our athletics program, Mrs. McCoy has also been a substitute teacher over the last two years.

Mrs. McCoy is honored to be a part of this remarkable community, and will bring a practical, though passionate approach as a member of our board.
