Through dynamic before- and after-school expanded learning, enrichment classes, and field experiences, where scholars explore, create, and grow as leaders—together.
From transitional kindergarten through twelfth grade, families find a community devoted to cultivating curiosity, leadership, and service. Our enrichment programs, field trips, and senior experiences are designed to connect study with action—helping scholars see, feel, and live the principles of freedom and virtue at the heart of an American Classical Leadership Education®
If the body be feeble, the mind will not be strong.

Foundations EXL is John Adams Academy’s expanded learning program, designed to enrich and support scholars beyond the traditional school day. More than just after-school care, Foundations EXL offers a well-rounded blend of academic support, enrichment classes, fitness, recreation, and community-building activities that align with the academy’s mission of developing servant leaders.

Scholars are encouraged to explore new interests, strengthen their talents, and discover the joy of hands‑on learning. Weekly before - and after-school enrichment classes give scholars the chance to apply their studies and personal interests in creative and meaningful ways while connecting with peers across grade levels.

Our field trips extend classroom learning into the world around us, deepening understanding through experience. These adventures are aligned with our classical curriculum in science, history, and literature—inviting scholars to see connections between ideas and action.
Featured Experience: 4th Grade Gold Rush Trip
Each year, our fourth‑grade scholars travel to Coloma, California, to step into history. Through living‑history activities, gold panning, and exploration, scholars experience firsthand the perseverance, innovation, and community spirit that built our state.

Each year, our seniors journey to Philadelphia, Gettysburg, and Valley Forge, immersing themselves in the history and founding ideals of our nation. This unforgettable expedition offers scholars a rare opportunity to connect with the roots of our republic and reflect on the principles of liberty and virtue that guide their own lives. The senior year at John Adams Academy is a true capstone experience—from the Senior Thesis and Service Project to the Patriot Expedition and Senior Formal. We invite families to watch the video below, which captures the heart of this journey and the culmination of an American Classical Leadership Education®.

Each year, older scholars serve as Reading and Math buddies, continue the long tradition of scholars mentoring each other in the K-12 environment.
Younger scholars flourish in the personal attention from older scholars who model great servant leadership. Younger scholars also serve as great mentors to older scholars by teaching them what it takes to grow and learn. Like a right of passage, service is built into every aspect of our program
We invite all scholars to actively participate in the development of others.
