How do I know if I am eligible for benefits? All full time employees, working at least 30 hours a week, are eligible for medical, dental, and vision benefits, as well as life insurance and long term disability.
How do I enroll in benefits? Benefit enrollment will take place through ADP.
When can I make changes to my benefit selection? Benefit changes or enrollment may happen only during your New Hire Window, Open Enrollment Window, or under a Life Change Circumstance. If you have questions about a Life Change Qualification, please reach out directly to HR.
How does the 403(b) work? All employees who are regularly scheduled to work at least 20 hours per week are eligible to participate in the 403(b) retirement plan. Eligible employees are automatically enrolled with a 5% employee contribution, although this contribution may be changed in accordance with the plan's enrollment procedures.
Upon completing one year of qualifying employment and working at least 1,000 hours, employees become eligible to receive employer contributions. John Adams Academy provides a dollar-for-dollar matching contribution of up to 5% of the employee's eligible compensation, in addition to a 3% employer contribution. Employer contributions are made at the end of the plan year (June 30), provided the employee is actively employed on that date.
How do I contribute more to my 403(b)? You may use the Salary Deferral Form to make changes to your contribution at any time.
When will I get my insurance cards? It may take 14-21 days to receive your medical insurance cards. This is after your benefit selection is processed and file feed is received by your plan provider. Insurance cards are distributed directly from the plan provider.
How can I add or delete someone from my benefits? You can only add or remove dependents to your coverage based on a qualifying life change event or during the Open Enrollment period.
When is open enrollment? Open enrollment will take place in spring and be communicated when dates are set. Open enrollment selections made in spring are for benefits to start July 1st.
